11/9 …5 anni dopo

Sono passati 5 anni da quel folle giorno in cui l’America venne attaccata, ferita a sangue, violentata e con lei tutti coloro che credono nei valori su cui essa è fondata: la libertà, la vita e il rispetto per il valore del singolo, dell’uomo.
Sono passati 5 anni da quel giorno che ha cambiato il mondo che lo si voglia o meno, tanto per le persone intelligenti che per i frustrati che da allora hanno esponenzializzato le allucinazioni ideologiche.
Siamo stati tutti americani per un la durata di un battito d’ali ma da allora le cose (se possibile) sono peggiorate. Io non sono molto ottimista nel breve periodo perchè l’occidente europeo ha sempre dovuto toccare il fondo prima di sentire la necessità di rialzarsi e qualcuno ha deciso di sfidare senza sosta la nazione che l’ha sempre tirato fuori dal fango.
Dell’11/9 parleremo ai nostri figli. Ognuno a modo nostro. Io non dimenticherò mai e mai dimenticherò queste due frasi. In loro c’è tutto.

Vorrei dire qualcosa di serio e di indimenticabile, ma non mi viene.
Dico solo che 5 anni dopo non credo che ci sia stato un qualcosa di minimamente paragonabile ad un “giustizia” per le vittime degli attentati alle torri gemelle.

I have just watched and listened to our President Bush. What a fine man he is. We are a nation built upon the toil of all of our fathers from the nations of Europe.
I do not know what lies ahead for Europe or America. I know that somehow we need to be united against our common foe. I am surprised at Europe because Europe has been there before with Islam, I mean and Europe has won the day. Islam is a totalitarian ideology. I do not believe liberty can be given to people, it must be sought and fought for - earned, I guess.
Our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence and the document was hidden inside of a framed picture/backing. They risked everything they had, including their lives for an ideal. Can this be brought to Iraq? I don’t know. Can Islam be contained? I don’t know. I know it seems at times that our laws are being used against us. Are Muslims here, Americans first or are they Muslims?
Every age has had its fight it seems. Sometimes I wonder what the American Left hopes to gain. For that matter, I wonder what the Left in Europe hopes to gain because their foe wished to destroy them all, regardless of their political perspective.
It is now 9/12 in Italy and soon to be in America. Don’t want to seem maudlin. That does not suit this occasion.

Watch our upcoming elections. These are mid-term, usually low turn out. I think Congressmen usually have about 280,000 constitutents. One of our congressmen usually wins with something like 10-15,000 votes to about 8,000 cast for other candidates. Of course, we on the Right always think each election is more important than the one before. This time it may be. Many Conservatives are so riled up about the mad spending of Congress and the open borders supported by our administration that they will either stay home or vote against incumbents. Not all incumbents are bad. Our problem is that many Senators who voted for the Amnesty Bill are not up for re-election (they are staggered with 33 up for election every 6 years) and thus count on the American voters having the attention span of a slug. Shut, I hate it when I insult a tenacious creature like a slug.
If the Senators were all up for re-election every two years, we would not have an illegal immigration invasion.
